This Vankyo H300W is a very cheap 1080p portable projector best suited for dark-room, nighttime, or casual use like kids movies, camping, backyard setups, and Halloween window projections. The picture is described as true 1080p with passable color, auto keystone, casting, and decent sound, and it can even handle light gaming. Brightness is the main limit, since 220 ANSI lumens will wash out quickly in ambient light and is not meant for serious home theater use. Fan noise and open-box condition are recurring concerns, including missing remotes or power cords on some units.

  • The projector can produce a true 1080p picture with adjustable settings for acceptable color.

  • The projector can handle small amounts of sunlight or indoor lights when windows are blacked out.

  • The projector can work well for dorm or kids movie nights when used at night.

  • The projector supports auto keystone and casting, which helps casual setups like camping or backyard use.

  • The 220 lumens brightness can make the image unpleasant unless the room is very dark.

  • The projector's fan noise can be a major drawback during indoor viewing.

  • Open-box units can arrive missing the power cord or remote, which limits basic control like volume.

  • Open-box condition can be poor, including focus failure and missing accessories, leading to returns.

220 lumens won't be a pleasant experience under any light conditions, but for 33 bucks ..🤷

I've owned 3 vankyo projectors in the past 7 years, one which I'm using still for my home theater which I bought for $50 from a previous SD. They all still work, and I just keep updating the projector as specs get better. Picture is true 1080p, color is not the greatest but is passable and can be adjusted. It can handle small amounts of sunlight or inside lights but not much. I black out the windows and have hung color changing led strips, this works well with the projector. For this price, it's a no brainer, I just ordered it. Vankyo has won me over as a great, budget projector.

I know for a fact that your projector doesn't have 3500 "ANSI" lumens though, lol. Different measurement.
Yep you're correct. It's 3000 ANSI lumens. My mistake. My comment still stands for this projector. No way your seeing anything unless you're in a very very dark room.

How do you adjust the color on this? I have it and didn't see the option.

All of these cheap projectors sound like a jet engine if you are using indoors and sitting next to it. Not appropriate for serious movie watching etc. Unusable IMO unless in an environment with ambient noise already, or for fun outside, in the garage, with the kids, etc
there's definitely a market for these cheap 1080p projectors.. i have 2, the only problem with them is the fan noise. no clue why they dont just design one with good airflow and large CFM fans so they dont have to spin so fast.

For anyone saying this one isn't great, the the seller has the same coupon which works on a bunch of other projectors in the same range and a little more expensive. Does anyone see any slicker deals? https://www.ebay.com/str/vipoutle...7675.m2197

Actually considering for Halloween or holidays. At this price it's cheaper than many of the holiday projectors. Would it work for this?
I have a Nebula Mars Lite that I've used for a similar setup. Threw up a cloth screen across my big living room windows and projected a zombie scene onto it. It looked great. Definitely enough to do that.

220 Lumens? Ids says that's a hard yes. My 3d epson projector has 3500 lumens and it struggles unless I have blackout curtains closed. 220 lumens... you'll need this in a room with no windows or only use it at night.
Are you sure your Epson is still outputting 3500 lumens (e.g. its bulb might need replacement)? 3500 lumens is super high - usually used in huge conference rooms, etc where that much power is needed. My balcony gets direct sunlight and my LG 600 lumen projector works fine without the need for blackout curtains when it is placed 10-ft away from the wall.

Hard to go wrong at this price. I recently bought a similar model from Miroir. It's nothing compared to the Panasonic hybrid projector we have setup in the house (3500 lumens in dynamic but 1500 in a more typical setup). However for so cheap it's not bad. It's fun for a kids movie or outdoor setup. Compared to the projector I was using 25 years ago these are great.
However, it's got limits. Unless you are on a really tight budget, don't look at this for a home/fixed setup. Much over 60" and the lack of brightness can be a problem. Under 60", well TVs are really cheap too.

I own one of these and that claimed noise level of 32dB is blatant false advertising
Noise cancelling headphones are a must.

Yeah at 3500 lumens it's not a question of brightness, it's probably a black level issue.

I'm looking to get into Projection Mapping. Is this a decent projector to learn on?
