Right because it runs Vega OS but this one runs Android OS. And you can still run third party apps although a couple of them were banned earlier this year or later last year which is why some people are confused.

But yes on the Android version of the fire Stick not the select version you can still side load apps. Kodi, smart tube, whatever's

If you already own a Fire TV device and it's working for you, rock on. Work that sucker until it dies on you.

However, for people looking to buy a new device, the appeal of buying a Fire TV device diminished greatly once Amazon started locking them down and Walmart launched their line of Android-based streaming devices.

There's a workaround that lets you still use "blocked apps" though you will no longer get updates as you have to block amazon server requests

Stremio was not blocked, only some tv and movie apps. If you redownload them, they won't show on the homepage and you get a warning when trying to launch them. You can only delete them or have them take up space on your system
