At that price, it better wake me up in the morning, tell me how good I look and pour me a cup of coffee.

Dang, I love Victorinox knives (I have 2) but that's a little over the top.

The regular work champ (non-XL) seems a much better deal at $100 ish. Still expensive compared to some multi tools, but I've had a Rucksack model of this knife as EDC for 30+ years and it's still functioning perfect.

The downside is it takes 10 minutes to find the tool you want...

Similar experience here. Victorinox is the OG of Swiss Army knives, and their quality and longevity are legendary. This model is a bit overkill for my needs. The Tinker is an old standby for pocket carry, and the Ranger is a good larger size for the outdoorsman or tradesman (Same profile as this Work Champ, but with only 7 foldouts plus toothpick and tweezers). Prices aren't cheap, but the stainless steel is top grade and as you mentioned they last for decades with reasonable care. Metallurgy and build quality really make this brand stand out from the crowd as a refined tool built with pride. In full disclosure, I have both a Ranger and a Tinker that I use regularly.
