These are so necessary in these modern times. I am in Florida. If you are not using surge protection for all of your devices, you are at risk.

I have several of these as well as other variations. They are really handy for many reasons, and the ones in the kitchen I only plug a Vitamix into. I use them quite often for recharging USB devices with never an issue. As far as "burning the house down" I am certain the breaker or GCFI would trip first. The only complaint i have is particular to one of my outlets that my builder put in horizontally and not the fault of any of the extenders.

Anecdotal . . .These work until the sockets get loose and the plugs fall out if you breath on them.
Fair warning if you expect them to last a long time, mine started to get loose after about 1 year.

For a permanent installation I would get something with more modern USB power, something like 65W or 100W USB PD.

Just bend the prongs outward a bit so they stay seated. Plugs have been falling out since sockets were invented

It has a center screw to hold it in place

Yeah, I'm a skeptical about all of this and will say these Chinese companies don't care if they are actually UL or ETL listed. They make bogus claims all the time. Good luck suing them after your house burns down. It's unlikely these will catch on fire and even UL listed power taps or power strips can go bad over time, so there's never any guarantee. I'm just trying to point out that just because an Amazon listing claims ETL certification, doesn't always mean it's true. You can confirm here if what you bought is actually ETL certified:https://ramuk.intertekconnect.com...ducts.nsf/

Bought it for the same price last Nov. 22.
You have to leave the wall plate on to get this gizmo mounted flat. It will overhang the wall plate, but that does not impact usability or safety.

Use keyword "OB5W4C". Interesting that these brands are listed under the same certification: Power Max, OneBeat, Mifaso, Addtam, HanyCony, Beshon, SMARTPOINT, Forza, NOMA, BLACK AND DECKER.
