Just FYI to anyone looking to buy these. From experience I have two sets of these along with some GP, Proto, Snap-On, and Icon swivel impact sockets. GearWrench ones are by FAR my least favorite. There is an aluminum ring that has GearWrench printed on it and if you let that touch something while the socket is turning, it'll tear that ring to pieces. Now you have a socket with little shards of metal sticking out of it. I hate this design, none of the other brands have that. I am a GearWrench fanatic and have a lot of their tools but sometimes they make a dud... Buy anything else in this case.

Torquetestchannel did a review on all the 1/2 in swivel socket sets and Astro ended up being the best affordable option. I think it placed second or third and lost to snap on. Icon and GW both snapped in the tests.

Astro are 11 pieces for $132. Almost double GW's for less pieces....not exactly apples-to-apples.

Wish these had the 17mm hex at the base, similar to Astro nanos. BTW, Mueller Kueps has already released those but are damn expensive for my needs. Here is the video - https://youtu.be/ru9gvfK5-7c

Thanks, brother.

I have some older Snap-On universals (it's hard to stomach the pricing on most of their newer stuff). A ton of regular GP, their sockets are hard to beat for the price and all of my tool guys will warranty them. Almost bit on these but I'm gonna pass.

I guess these are shorter for "emergency" repair situations. But a swivel and regular impact socket seem to be best

What would you recommend instead of this? 1/2" size

South Main Auto on Youtube uses the Astro tools swivels. Supposedly hold up better than Mac tools equivalent.
