It's a shame that I don't feel secure in not getting a fake when ordering Apple accessories from Amazon. Has anyone had any issues with Amazon and fake apple products?

Apple's 40W Dynamic Power Adapter is a compact travel charger that can burst to 60W before tapering to about 40W as it warms up. That makes it appealing for newer devices, especially MacBooks and fast phone charging, with reports of very quick charging on an iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max. It is also described as staying relatively cool during use. The main caveats are its larger size than small phone chargers, its limited advantage over cheaper 30W options for phones, and concern about counterfeit Apple accessories when buying from Amazon.

This is Apple's "40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max', so OP should probably fix the title. It is a 60W capable charger but will slowly taper down to add low as 40W as it warms up. Third party testing shows that this takes about 18 minutes:

This looks like a good deal on a newer, highly compact charger from a highly reputable company.

I'm confused. Aren't all USB c chargers dynamic power?

Most USB-C chargers have multiple voltage modes, but this one renegotiates lower output power as the surface temperature gets above some limit.

Temperature of the charger? Seems like an odd design. I guess they are going for maximum compactness.

You can think of it like temporarily overclocking a CPU for burst performance.

I bought one of these open box off of Amazon. Looks new to me. I am very impressed by the charger. Iphone 17 pro charges fast and does not heat up. It also works well on a Pixel 10 for a relatively fast charge and the phone seems to be cooler than a normal fast charge. I have no temp measurements so this is all anecdotal.

Why not get a real 60w charger?

Is Walmart better in getting genuine apple product?

As long as it sold and shipped by Walmart you should have no issues. Best Buy seems pretty reliable too.

Not worth it over $8~15 30W charger from reputable brands for charging phones as those are way smaller. Only good if you have a MacBook that you want to charge at 60W burst then 40W constant and then charge your phone. For higher power laptop or charging 2 devices together, still have to use 67~100W charger that's also this price range
