This refurbished Acer Aspire 14 AI looks strongest as a budget work and school laptop with unusually good CPU, memory, and storage for the price. The Intel Ultra 5 226V, 16GB LPDDR5, and 1TB SSD get praised for fast, efficient performance, smooth multitasking, and even light 1080p gaming or multimedia use. USB C charging, cool and quiet operation, and a light, thin chassis add to the appeal. The main drawback is the display, which is repeatedly described as dim, dull, and only average, with some also noting a spongy keyboard and refurb cosmetic wear. A solid value if the screen is not the priority.

  • The laptop can handle around 50 Chrome tabs without issue for everyday multitasking.

  • The configuration includes 16GB LPDDR5 and 1TB SSD, which can make the package cost-competitive versus buying parts separately.

  • The integrated GPU and efficient CPU performance can support 1080p low-medium gaming and multimedia workloads.

  • The system supports USB-C charging, which reduces the need for a separate wall charger.

  • The touchscreen display can appear dim with poor color accuracy, which can hurt personal media use.

  • The 64% sRGB color gamut and roughly 300 nits brightness can be limiting for pro work and outdoor viewing.

  • Coupon savings can fail to match the listed price after tax, which can raise the effective total.

  • Refurbished condition can include cosmetic issues such as a noticeable side scratch.

Always a little nervous about refurbished. But seems like a good deal for everyday regular use.

This laptop was just OK last year, but now that they've added AI to the name, it's a must buy.

This used to be a $300 laptop at the end of last year: https://www.ebay.com/itm/277168045226

Same laptop, only difference is "Very Good - Refurbished" vs "Certified Refurbished". As always, refurbs are a coin toss. Acer likes to play these pricing games, especially when coupons are available.

I got this several weeks ago and satisfied for the price and specs. Yes, the screen isn't the greatest and for me the keyboard is a bit spongy but overall a good deal. Basically, looks brand new - the battery had only been cycled 7 times.

I wouldn't say cpu is just fine I would say it is good bc that is the best part of the laptop by far.Basically the lowest power x86 chip on the market and a solid igpu comparable to most gaming handhelds
Yup. The CPU is better than "fine" … it's literally the best CPU you will find today at this price. Lunar Lake is no joke and a great integrated GPU also.

Unfortunately, you're tax on the $445 and not the $356 you actually pay after the discount!

Are you just going off of specs or do you have direct experience with this model? Doing a quick check, these display specs are standard in the $600 and less price range.
There have been laptops with OLED under $600... The CPU, memory and storage are best parts of this laptop.

64% srgb is poor for media consumption and professional work. 1600p would be ideal for this screen size, but 1200p is norm. ~300 nits means rougher outdoors and under strong lighting. Though somewhat offset by matte finish... These are basic facts for any screen.

There are plenty of reviews for this laptop, it's not a brand new model. If you have never used a good screen what I'm saying won't matter. It's like me suggesting specific headphones and you buy a $20 Skullcandy set.

This is fine for people that don't want a good-great viewing experience. Like I said the 226v is the highlight. Good laptop for those focused on strong CPU performance... competitive for price.

I went to Costco to look at this model and decided to get a different one based purely on the in-store screen experience. I didn't tweak anything, but it looked bad to a new level ... I ended up getting the equivalent HP Omnibook, which was on sale for around $150 more than this, and I enjoy the screen on there (though it has similar srgb specs it just subjectively looks better, I went to a different local store to check the screen there ... it's also 400 nits I believe).
IMO if you are doubtful and have a membership, go to Costco - they have this model on sale and you can see the screen for yourself. Other than that, the specs are great, and for the price it's a steal. Though this deal is not very different compared to the 'normal' price for this refurbished, it hovers between 350 and 400.
