I feel like EcoFlow makes it a bit hard to compare the different models, they don't really do comparisons with their own models and they do screwy things with the numbers. For instance, they have a comparison of a 1000VA UPS, the River 3 and the River 3 Plus, and for the UPS and 3 Plus, they use a 600W computer for the computer runtime benchmark, but for the 3 they use a 300W computer. I think it's because other models like the River 2 Pro which has a lot higher capacity is 2x the price, and is better in a lot of ways, but has a <30ms power switch-over time which means that you shouldn't use it as a UPS. I think that they want you to really dig if you want to compare the different models.
IMO 600W opens up a lot more options for powering devices so unless you have a particular use case in mind that is <300W I'd recommend spending the extra $55 for the plus.
Edit: I did find an official response by EcoFlow. It looks like the unit they officially designed for UPS needs is the River 3 Plus.

The EcoFlow River 3 is a compact entry level power station that works well for keeping small electronics and home internet gear running, especially during outages or occasional travel. It can keep an AT and T fiber WiFi router up for 20 plus hours, and the core unit is described as handy for charging desk setups. The main limits are its 300 watt continuous output, which rules out heavier loads like a 500 watt space heater, and the advertised UPS use comes with a roughly 20 millisecond switchover that may be too slow for flicker prone setups. Cold weather charging is also very slow.
Common Questions (5)
It has a UPS feature with about a 20 ms switchover, but that is longer than ideal for sensitive UPS use and may not ride through brief flickers reliably. For router-only backup it can work, but heavier network setups may be better served by the River 3 Plus.
Yes, it can keep an AT&T fiber Wi‑Fi router running for 20+ hours in one setup, making it useful for maintaining internet during outages. It is not suitable for larger loads like a 500W space heater.
The RIVER 3 and RIVER 3 Pro reportedly do not support USB‑C charging natively and require adapter cables, with caveats. That makes it less convenient if USB‑C is your default charging method.
The listing shows generator charging, and the question raised is whether a non-inverter generator is enough. The comments do not confirm a requirement for an inverter generator, so the practical takeaway is that generator charging is advertised but the exact generator type is not clarified here.
Yes, charging can become very slow when the unit is cold, especially in winter car use. It is still described as a very good power station overall.

See, that's the thing. You're just trying to justify doing the wrong thing -- when the ethics of AI are simply abysmal.
