Costco has this monitor plus a $120 gift card for $1,500. 10x better than buying it from Amazon due to the issues this monitor sometimes has.

It seems to bottom out at ~$1,250-1,300 from time to time.

Not really a sale at this price. I's consider this a everyday price. I bought mine for about $300 cheaper with a free 27 inch monitor.

That was a price mistake with Walmart that Amazon's pricing system temporarily matched that lasted a few hours starting at around midnight into early am hours. You don't know what you're talking about.
