This is Quentin Tarantino's "4th fav movie of the 21st century".
According to Tarantino:
"Another film that I didn't initially like […] What I now love about it is that I feel there's a real mastery to it, and I came around to it watching it again and again and again. The first time, it's not like it left me cold — it was so kind of gobsmacking, I didn't really know what I saw, it was almost too much, and then the second time I saw it, my brain was able to take it in a little bit more, and then the third time and the fourth time, it was just like, wow, it just blew me away."

Seems like every movie now has to be made for short attention spans. This was an excellent movie. If 2001 A Space Odyssey came out today, or similar, so many wouldn't like it but that doesn't make it a low quality film.
No Atmos for one movie it would be so awesome. Understand his point that so much invested in audio edits but just throw us a dummy height channel track with some ambiance sound 😀
I didn't knew people bad mouthed this movie until I came to this thread.

Never really bought that excuse.
You can easily say that about HDR, he has no problem there.
When done properly & have an optimal setup object based soundtracks is the next set up with soundtracks ime.
I don't buy/upgrad his movies because of that.
I will admit audio is much more important to me than picture is.

I already own 4K disc but will definitely buy it if Nolan mixes it for Atmos.
