Today, I bought gas for $3.22/gal (was actually $3.49) on $7.25/hr.
I bought my gas over $0.32 more than if it was proportioned on wage.
The District or state with the highest minimum wage, where gas could be high in price, but still affordable would be in Washington D.C. With a minimum wage at $17.95/hr., gas could be like $7.18/gal and it would still be affordable.
The more you know..

So has anyone gotten this to work using their credentials from the fuel rewards app? I understand we need to have the Shell app to use to get this .22 off per gallon but I already have the fuel rewards app and would like to use those credentials if possible.

Nope! It has to be on the Shell app. Just download it, not a big deal. I was resistant to downloading it because my phone is running out of storage, but during these times, any savings is better than paying regular price for gas. $0.27/gal off is REALLY good.
Also, check to see if you received an email recently on a monthly bonus of $0.15/gal from Fuel Rewards. You could stack that with T Mobile for $0.25/gal off if activated by the end of today and used on Friday 3/20. T Mobile, you would have to activate it today and then you could use that on Friday for the stack.

So as a follow up when I download the Shell app I need to use a different email and mobile number than I'm using for the fuel rewards app? Maybe I can at least use the same mobile number for the two?

Downloaded the Shell app and got all signed up. Quick question - do I need to pay with my phone at the pump or can I still enter my Shell credentials at the pump? I really don't like paying for things with my phone and with the fuel rewards app and the T-Mobile code I was able to enter phone # at the pump. Not sure if I can do the same with the Shell rewards too?
Also I opted into the Nascar .22 off deal but do I only need to opt into that promotion once or before every race?

You pay everything with your credit card that you put in the app. When you have to put your card in the pump, look at the price of the fuel you want to get (the price will drop by $0.27).
To make sure you do not stack any offers, do it one at a time. Of course, with this Nascar Shell promotion, it happens on a Sunday and so the two offers will never stack.
So for that Shell, Nascar promotion; you do not need to opt in until Sunday. Totally separate.
For T Mobile Tuesday, which is today, be sure to activate it today to get the $0.05 along with the default $0.05 for the $0.10 off. Again, with Fuel Rewards app; I get a prompt, after putting my card in the pump, if I want to use $0.10/gal. I press yes and then the price of Unleaded drops by that amount.
I think you have to opt in every Sunday (I would check). If not, it could be a one time opt in until the promotion is over.
Since I was only able to make use of the deal this last Sunday, I will need to check again this Sunday.

Apparently, I just received a notification that Fuel Rewards app is closing for the summer. I did not even know a business could do that! Shell app is going to be going on.
The good thing is the Nascar offer can be used once per Sunday until expiration. The bad news is, I have no idea what happens to my current status tier or if that gets migrated over.
Just wanted to forewarn people who use the Fuel Rewards. i am guessing T Mobile will not have the $0.10/gal anymore unless they will specify downloading the Shell app.

I think it just means Shell is consolidating to a single app. Fuel Rewards was created by Excentus in 2012 as a loyalty program for Shell, and Shell only acquired it in April last year.
The e-mail notice also features a new logo for Fuel Rewards, so I don't expect the program is going away any time soon.

You do not need to pay with the Shell app. You only need to use the app to opt-in to the Race Day Rewards promo, and you only need to do that once, not before every race. Once you have opted in, then you can redeem the reward by entering your linked Fuel Rewards account number or alt ID at the pump and pay as you normally would. The race day rewards discount appears rather late in the process but the price on the pump should reflect the discount before you start dispensing.

I am just hoping T Mobile is still going to give those weekly discount offers, but make it clear that it will be on the Shell app now. If there is anytime I could use gas discounts, it would be now. Having those weekly offers and this Nascar one, it will help get through this volatile gas price period we are having.
Edit: I ended up using the $0.27/gal offer today and I am getting gas cheaper than the Costco in my area! Regular price where I am at is $3.79 in a $7.25/hr. state and was able to get it for $3.52

After downloading the Shell app and activating the offer, do I need to have the phone and use the app for this? Or can I just give my Alt ID at the pump? One person in the household could have the app but that way anyone could use it. Thanks.

You can use your Alt ID

i received this email from Shell:
To thank you for your recent fill with the Fuel Rewards® program, GoNift.com presents you with a $30 Nift gift card*.
Has anyone claimed that before?
Is it a scam?

So in 1938, gas was $0.10 on $0.25/hr.

so, technically, you would only be getting 12 cents at the stations that charge you .10/gal to use a credit card?
does the .22 come off if you pay cash?
Also, check to see if you received an email recently on a monthly bonus of $0.15/gal from Fuel Rewards.
