Thanks OP. I picked these up because I feel like the January fitness deals have dried up. I waited too long for one of those really good Walmart deals to come along, when I really should have bought the 20lb dumbbells at an earlier deal. The convenience of individual dumbbells is so nice coming from an adjustable set. Good find.

The lead is usually in the coatings (rubber coating, chrome plating, corrosion resistant plating, etc.). If you are concerned with that, then get Solid Stainless Steel dumbbells (best), or Solid Cast Iron dumbbells (next best).

Lead poisoning comes from ingesting or inhaling, not from touch. Are you eating or licking the dumbbells? Just wash your hands afterwards if you're that paranoid. Here's what California has to say about it:

The deal isn't amazing. Just okay. Still pretty much $1 a pound. Having bought a 15lb set only a few weeks ago and finding it somewhat lacking, I'm not sure a 5lb increase is worth getting another set for. Looking for 25s. Even though I said the 15 is lacking, you can still achieve a workout with increased reps.
