Because the game missed sales expectations, people who wanted it already bought it, people who don't care wait until it's on sale for $24.99 or less. Also, most that bought Switch 2 got their fix with kart racing with Mario Kart. It's a good game but everyone has a backlog anyways.

Nintendo is unnecessarily charging a large tax on a hardware upgrade, compatibility charge. Not a consumer friendly move. I remember when I used a software 25+ years ago and my computer science teacher said "you don't own software, you only own the license to use it.". But now it's hardware-specific? That's double dipping logic. In favor of corporations.

Just pointing out that Sony was already doing this prior with PS4 to PS5

Yeah, pretty common to see $5-10 upgrades. I'd say PS5 to PS6 might do something like that too if there's some big feature.
