The first time I had gone to a Papa Murphy's in my area, I was thinking to myself, "Dang, I have to still cook it?" The laziness in me. I am impatient when I am hangry.

I could be wrong, but I think the catch to it was fresh ingredients and that it used to be cheaper. Doubt that's the case anymore (at least on the cheaper part but not sure).

On tuesdays all the family sized pizzas are discounted to $13 which is worth it imo. It feeds 2-3 and it's better than any pizza chain. And since you cook it yourself, the pizza is always hot, which is a huge selling point for me

As someone who operated PM locations for over a decade, the freshness of the ingredients and the value were the big draw. Dough and sides made fresh in-house every day, veggies cut and prepped every day. The main sauce came in ready to go, but the white sauce and the former crushed tomato sauce needed extra ingredients added to them. The mozz, cheddar, and provolone were shredded daily. Parm and feta were the outliers that came in ready to go.Pricing was already ridiculous. When I first started, the DeLites were $3-4 each, watched those prices rise and corners get cut. Then the faves came out which were similar to the regular pizzas, just with a lesser amount of ingredients. Guessing those are gone or are more spendy. It's so amusing to see the pushing a Medium size now. They were heavily discouraged the entire time I worked there. I ran one of the busiest locations in the Midwest for a number of years and even at 1800-2000 pizzas a week, we'd average only about 20 mediums in favor of large and family size.

yeah we always went with the family size for our family of 4 just for the leftovers.
