This last time I spent the money on Coway filters and can say I am happier. ultimately worth the price. I can tell the air is 'lighter' when I change the filters. More so than when I'd change out to aftermarket. The carbon also lasts a LOT longer. There is a smell in the air when the carbon stops working. It's distinct. The carbon in the Coways easily last twice as long. But this isn't a deal breaker. As the carbon in the Coways don't last as long as the HEPA part either. You can give them a good shake, to extend the life of the carbon. Doing so introduces new cracks and crevices within the pieces of carbon for the air to filter through. Be sure the vacuum it first. Shake with the carbon part of the filter pointed down. And vacuum again afterwards. Because you will get carbon dust, it's just little pieces of charcoal, all in your HEPA, reducing the lifespan.

The Coway Airmega 400 is a large, smart HEPA purifier that moves a lot of air and does a strong job cutting dust, odors, and airborne particles. It works well in bigger spaces, can run around the clock, and the auto sensor and scheduled high speed mode help it collect plenty of debris on the prefilter. Long term durability looks solid, with multiple reports of years of trouble free use. The main drawbacks are expensive replacement filters, especially for the pair, plus occasional complaints about chemical smells, noise, WiFi setup hassles, and no child lock. A capable whole home style purifier if upkeep cost and size are acceptable.
households with pets (like a cat or dog) because commenters said auto-detection is sensitive to pet-related odor/particles and the pre-filter can be vacuumed regularly to keep up with the extra activity.
buyers who are okay managing filter costs by using non-OEM replacements because multiple owners said they use aftermarket filters and "can't tell a difference," and one long-term owner reported the unit still works great after years with non-OEM filters.
people who can tolerate app/WiFi setup quirks because if you're willing to use the app for schedules, owners reported very good performance (including running high at night for white noise) and the non-WiFi version was also reported as working well in a master bedroom.
homeowners running one purifier in a bedroom and another in a main work/living area because it can circulate air effectively (they reported it working well about once an hour) and they found HEPA filter replacement about twice a year with regular pre-filter vacuuming.
people who want to keep windows closed while purifying indoor air because one commenter specifically warned that if you run it with windows open, the fan can pull in unfiltered outdoor pollutants and reduce effectiveness.
people who are sensitive to chemical odors from replacement filters because multiple commenters reported that replacement filters (even OEM) can smell like chemicals and one person stopped using the Coway after noticing the terrible smell.
shoppers trying to purify across multiple floors with a single unit because commenters said it doesn't do well between floors/enclosed spaces and recommended multiple units for big rooms throughout the floors.
parents with young kids because one owner said there's no child lock and the buttons are at child height, so kids can trigger sounds and turn lights on/off.
buyers who rely on stable WiFi after power outages because a commenter said the unit loses WiFi after power goes out and requires a hard reset and re-adding to the app.
people who want quiet operation at low speeds because one owner reported an annoying hum/whine at low speeds.

I do like the unit on this deal. If filter cost is high, I won't bite. I'm fine with upfront cost for a nice unit, but the filter cost is what'll add up.

Honestly, if you have big rooms throughout your floors, get multiple of these devices.
Would not hesitate to buy one of these again if I needed a 2nd.
