Looks like an interesting option for having dual monitors for little cost. But I'm skeptical of some of their details, for instance the claim that it is 0.04 in. thick. Clearly it is NOT 1/25 in. thick (0.04) but a case of a misplaced decimal point. Probably 0.4 in. thick.

the AOC one is still "on sale" for $50. While I found the cover/stand kinda annoying, I find it better to have a cover + AOC is somewhat of a "known" brand so I went with that.

can you use this with an android tablet to mirror the screen?
Yes as long as your device supports video through the USB Type C Port

Is this bright enough to watch a game at a brewery outside in the sun ?

Maybe definitely so.
300 Nits, you need 800+ minimum and more reasonable is 1000-1200 nits where you should be looking at for daytime use. Currently most "outdoor/daylight" displays are focused for car screens, phones and watches, otherwise the normal outdoor display types are big giant panel modules with a bunch of RGB LEDs as the actual pixels.

I don't see how less deal makes a lot of sense, considering the fact that the other featured deal by Acer Refurb monitors is only $33 from a certified brand. (41$ for 2 year warranty and certified excellent https://www.ebay.com/itm/276789897235)
Considering the fact that portable monitors of the same specs are very high-rated items, like Fangor, are available on Amazon for $60( https://a.co/d/0bJTvJyR 70 now but 60 regularly) , and highly rated ones with rtings and wirecutter recommendations like Azorpa are only $80 (https://a.co/d/05fC93ov).

As someone with way too many computers in the house these things are great to have around for emergencies / trouble shooting / new builds. I prefer the ones that have full size HDMI inputs just because I can use any regular HDMI cable. Can either plug into the USB port of the computer for power or even use a USB battery pack if you just need a quick peak.

Do people travel with these? I'm considering putting one in my carry on luggage. But maybe more hassle than bringing laptop or tablet
Most of the bad reviews for these kinds of portable monitors stem from durability.
They're just laptop panels with some external controls on them. There isn't a opposing keyboard shell to protect the front of the display. They aren't reinforced with Gorilla Glass and even if they come with a soft cover, that's not enough if you're rough with them.
It might be okay if you surround it with clothing as a protective barrier in your luggage.

I don't know, but I'm considering getting one. I spend a lot of time inside cleanrooms when I travel and it would sure be nice to have a second monitor at times.

Still, I don't know if these are any good. I might just spend the extra money to buy the one that Costco is selling for $90. Just to have the Costco guarantee in case the thing craps out.

Thanks for the link. I've heard of AOC before and used one of their monitors before.

I took mine to Memphis from Houston on a flight. I kept it in the box which is well packed and snug. Put it in my checked bag(wheeled duffle). It was fine. I hook it up to my mini pc GMktec at the Airbnb or Hotel so I can game. Cheaper than a laptop I can game on
