Looks like an interesting option for having dual monitors for little cost. But I'm skeptical of some of their details, for instance the claim that it is 0.04 in. thick. Clearly it is NOT 1/25 in. thick (0.04) but a case of a misplaced decimal point. Probably 0.4 in. thick.

the AOC one is still "on sale" for $50. While I found the cover/stand kinda annoying, I find it better to have a cover + AOC is somewhat of a "known" brand so I went with that.

There is a video lower in the page and it shows this one with a cover that doubles as the stand also.

Says 300 Candela, aren't most of these cheap monitors 250? Of course that only matters if the # is correct.

These types of portable displays are very mid level laptop screen quality. If you'd consider a normal bushiness class laptop useable, you'd likely consider this perfectly watchable ***if*** the sun wasn't directly shining on the screen, but in total noon sun (angled away from the sun) the display will of course not look like an OLED 4K, IMAX screen, etc....in near darkness, like some of these kids pretend it should. And even a super high-end screen will still look like crap under those conditions, just better by comparison.

That being said, I'd be more worried about how loud the speakers are for such a setting.

FWIW, I use a similar el cheapo monitor all the time outside, just try to be under some type of shade if possible (I imagine that brewery has umbrellas, pergolas, etc) and angled away from direct sunlight hitting the display.

What I've been impressed with is what you can get for $150 from the Uperfect brand, which despite the generic-sounding name seems to have cornered the market on mid range portable monitors.

Here's one I tried: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FH6R7KZW

Placed alongside a Macbook Pro, the screen doesn't pale in comparison, which is saying a lot. (It's on the smaller size, larger ones are out there)

They do look like they have some cool stuff, for example, I just stumbled on this https://www.amazon.com/UPERFECT-P...B0FWRQKL23. Love the fact it has a folding stand but also comes with a purpose built case too.

Thanks for the recommendation! UPERFECT looks promising. A major upgrade to my "MNN" branded monitor Wink

Unlikely. If they don't list the nits of brightness, it's nothing special.
I'm sure these are just surplus laptop panels being repurposed as portable monitors. And most laptop panels struggle in the direct sun.

These portable monitors are all junk. Low brightness, low contrast, and fragile.

Do people travel with these? I'm considering putting one in my carry on luggage. But maybe more hassle than bringing laptop or tablet
