The vendor wants you to download their custom installer, however there are instructions for installing directly from Microsoft.

I bought this a year ago. Installation was fine on a spare laptop. I tried to use Word on the laptop after months of non use. License is now invalid. Bruh.

Slickdeals pushes them bc they get a big kickback ...which is why you're paying more than other places

If you're not going to buy a legit license, at least don't overpay for it.

Grey market keys, overpriced. Significantly cheaper elsewhere but SD wants those fat commissions

As a Microsoft reseller, I've seen this for years. These are OEM keys that will get revoked as soon as Microsoft finds out about it. Caveat emptor.

I've purchased 5 or so of these from eBay Groupon etc and Microsoft has never disabled anything.

Ok I'll re-attempt my post in a more direct way: I don't recommend buying this product at any price. You shouldn't trust Microsoft with your personal information, and you should doubly not trust a gray market key reseller with the same.

I bought a key like this only once, some years ago. Eventually it self-deactivated and would no longer work.

Unless you absolutely must have a desktop version of Office, consider alternatives.

And Visio is cursed.

They key may work for weeks. May work for months. If you are very lucky might work for years. Those who enjoy gambling on it just know you may suddenly find it doesn't work on some random day in the future.
