Peet's Major Dickason whole beans are a dark roast that stands out for strong, full-bodied espresso and regular home brewing. The blend gets praise for being a favorite, evenly balanced, and hard to beat at the mass-produced level, with some preferring to mix it with a lighter roast to soften the intensity. The main drawback is the roast level, which is repeatedly described as very dark, burnt, or overly roasted, and the bags no longer show roast dates, only a best-by date about a year out. The in-store Costco price is about $15 for 2 pounds, with the sale tied to select warehouses.
Common Questions (4)
It is a strong dark roast and can taste very roasted, with descriptions ranging from earthy and spicy to burnt or coal-like. It can be toned down by blending with a lighter roast, and it is also reported to work well straight as espresso.
The $15 price applies to select in-store warehouses, not necessarily the online listing. The Costco app can show local warehouse inventory under the Warehouse tab, and the online page may display a higher price with a separate discount.
The Costco bags reportedly no longer show roast dates and instead list only a best-by date about a year out. That makes freshness harder to judge compared with older bags that showed a roast date.
The in-store deal works out to $15 for a 2 lb bag, or $7.50 per pound. Nearby Kirkland Signature Colombian bags were noted at about $7.33 per pound for comparison.

Been this price there awhile. Also, this in-store reg price is not $25, it's $21.50, this is not "40%" off as shown in OP
