This is a targeted PlayStation Plus Premium renewal and upgrade offer that can drop the yearly price to about $99 or $100, with some accounts seeing pro rated upgrade paths instead. It works best after a subscription expires, and the offer also appears in the PS app or on the service page for eligible accounts. Gift cards from Costco, Newegg, Target, or Eneba can lower the effective cost further. The main catch is that eligibility is inconsistent, and some accounts still show full price or only a smaller discount. A solid value if the offer appears on your account and timing lines up.

Common Questions (5)

  • It appears to be a targeted resub offer that usually shows after a membership has expired or been lapsed for months. Many accounts with active time left only see MSRP or a prorated upgrade price instead of the full $99 annual offer.

  • Usually no: the discounted annual price tends to appear after the current subscription expires, while active accounts often see full price or only an upgrade offer. Some users saw the deal the day after expiration, and others had to wait until renewal was fully off.

  • Log in to the correct PSN account, check the PS Plus page or home-screen PS Plus icon, and make sure auto-renew is turned off. The offer can also appear in the PS app, but some accounts only show it after signing in or after the subscription has fully ended.

  • Yes. PSN gift cards and PlayStation e-gift cards can be redeemed to your account before checkout, then applied to the subscription purchase; Costco and Eneba were both used to lower the effective cost.

  • At $99, many see it as reasonable, especially versus the $160 MSRP, but the value depends on whether you use Premium features like classics, streaming, and trials. If you only want online play or don't use the extra catalog, Essential or a cheaper alternative may make more sense.

This deal works once your subscription ends! 2/19 (active) = full price. 2/20 the discounted price showed up. Thanks OP. Man hoping this comes up every year at this time. Exactly the time my subscription ends.

Shows $159.99, but that is because I am currently subscribed. My subscription ends on February 24th, and auto renew is turned off. I figured I was done with subscription services, but another year of Premium @ $99 could justify its cost. Will I be able to purchase this on 02/25 or 02/26, or does Sony have some nonsense waiting period? Wouldn't be surprised if they did.
Worked for me the day after my Subscription ended. Man you are cutting it close :-) Good luck.

I took this deal last year for premium at ~$107, I of course immediately cancelled renewal. My sub expires June, when I checked for this deal I saw nothing. So I renewed for $160 then immediately cancelled and voila I'm offered a less than this post 25% discount for premium at $120. So I'm guessing it truly varies based on your situation

Worked for me! I haven't had PS+ for about 5 or so years. Logged in to check for offer and voila, there it was.
Paid and immediately cancelled auto renewal. Good thru 2/20/27.
Thanks!

My subscription runs out on 3/31. I had renewal turn off, so I turned it on and didn't see this deal, however, when I went back to Confirm Cancellation, it offered me Save 25% when you buy another 12 months. ($119.99). Not sure what I should do.

Why does PlayStation make this shit so difficult? I would renew for $100. I'm just going to cancel at $160.
I cancelled my Premium (let it expire) and then the next day got the offer for $99 for Premium.

I was able to buy it today for 100$ after my monthly membership expired yesterday and obviously I canceled renew several days ago . They charged tax smh 107$ I wouldn't think a digital membership is taxable , it's not something you physically hold in your hand. Ohh well happy I got it so far. There are a lot of games to choose.

Seems to be working. Had to wait for the previous subscription to end in order to purchase the new one. Combined with the New Egg $88.88 for $100 credit deal, this is pretty good.

Yes did this last year as well. Thanks to our good pals on SD money has been saved. I guess I got this same deal last year around this time - so hoping this Lunar New Years + New Egg happens next year as well

The day my sub expired was when I was finally offered this deal.
I was shocked when they tried to charge me tax. I don't remember that ever happening and I have had a subscription since the service existed.
Had to use a work around to get rid of that bogus charge.

It is a targeted offer to subs not renewed in the last six months or have been expired for at least 6 months.

I tried to capitalize on this one and told a ton of BS... offer showed up when I logged into the PS5, and then upon checkout got $160. When I called Playstation they told me I had to be given an email to be allowed to use this offer, since its only open to select players. Um, it was "offered" to me when I logged into PS+ from my PS5 with my account... do I need a specific offer email to get the sale price for every game in the store too? Those dont go back to full price when I put em in my cart.
Sony lost not one but 2 subscriptions on this. I know, one molecule in the vast ocean of subscribers, but hopefully one day their customer dis-service will eventually bite them in the collective backsides.
