I have one of these from about 6 years ago. It was pretty great then, but they desperately need to double the lumens and update to USB-C or half the price. This is outdated.

This flashlight uses micro-usb. There are plenty of others in this same price and size class that use usb-c now. I have it and don't use it.

I agree. I have this in my tool box. It does need to evolve.

I've got the AAA Microstream, it's a nice little light. I didn't care for length of travel of the endcap button for momentary on, ended up using a hole punch to punch a dot out of a bicycle inner-tube, unscrewed the endcap and dropped that inside, and it has a much more sensitive feel. I presume the same would be possible if you went with this version.

I wish Amazon didn't mix inventory; I ended up with a counterfeit Streamlight from them once that had a very unreliable button and would constantly flicker. In that case it took me more than thirty days to realize that the flickering wasn't a PWM adjustment and by then Amazon wouldn't accept a return, but Streamlight was kind enough to replace it (I think they also wanted to look at the counterfeit). The replacement works perfectly.
That said, the other four Streamlights I've purchased from them appear to be genuine.

This was a really good light whenever it was made, it's just nowadays we have many much higher Lumen output lights in a similar form factor with more convenient charging. They certainly need to step the game up and change. Basically an echo of all the other comments here

I will never buy another micro-usb product again unless I absolutely have to for some reason. I'm way too close to being usb-c only.

I've had the battery version of this for over a decade at this point and it's great. It's not super bright compared to modern lights, which for my use case is better. I mainly use it while digging around inside computer cases, racks, etc and it's very easy to have something too bright in those spaces that just flat blind you. I'm sure there are small lights out there with variable brightness, but if i don't have to click through 24629 modes to get back to low all the better. If i need something bright i have other lights.
However charging via micro usb in 2026 is criminal.

Been having this in Tan and Black for years now, still one of my favorite lights (tan version). IF it was the tan I would consider It, but not the black as the default for tan is bright and default for black is dim on the first press. I also have the cloud defensive chicro which is USB C which is nice, but it flickers, dims randomly etc. Overall I like the micro stream USB more and it's been my pocket light for years.
