You should never buy these. Flushable wipes often get snagged on tiny imperfections or tree roots in your lateral pipes. Once one sticks, it catches grease and hair, leading to a massive backup into your home.

I worry about this, but it's been 10 years my family has been using them and thankfully no trouble so far. Also, not to be pedantic but that would be a blockage, not a backup, they are very different things in terms of homeowners insurance, blockage covered, backup requires an endorsement, at least with my carrier. Backup is like the city sewer backs up into our drain line. Blockage otoh is clog in our drain line.

If it's not one thing that's going to clog your drains, it's another
So, maybe maintain your pipes instead

You have it 100% correct. I'm an insurance professional.

Or maybe don't add things into the system that cause problems to your pipes and or the public sewage system? If you don't care about your own pipes, at least care about the public waste system that asks people to not flush these things. It's called integrity, doing the right thing even when no one is looking.

I used these for 10 years with no troubles. And when I sold the house, the buyer's inspector sent a camera down the line and there were no signs of the wipes in the line. And my line was nearly 100 year old terracotta pipes with no breaks.

No wipes should ever be flushed. Please don't do it!
