Lenovo's Idea Tab Pro stands out as a fast 12.7 inch Android tablet bundle with the pen and case, and the 8GB or 12GB versions handle browsing, streaming, sheet music, and games smoothly. The stylus tracking and pen input lag are praised, and the Dimensity 8300 class chip is described as close to Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 performance. The main drawback is the 400 nit display, which is reported as fine indoors but weak in bright sunlight. Pricing around $280 appears common, with some lower Lenovo and sale prices noted.

  • The screen can work well for indoor reading tasks like sheet music and web browsing.

  • The tablet can deliver very responsive pen input with nearly nonexistent lag during use.

  • The device can run smoothly for media and gaming streaming without needing extra power.

  • Lenovo perks and rewards can reduce the effective purchase price when buying directly.

  • The display can be too dim for outdoor use in bright light due to around 400 nits.

  • The brightness specification can be disputed, with measurements reported closer to about 280 nits.

  • Sleep battery life can be worse than Samsung tablets, which may affect overnight usage.

  • Buying the China variant may require flashing a Global ROM and can involve a boot loop workaround.

U can get it from china cheaper on sites like aliexpress. But, yes, for the price this is a good tablet, except unusable at sunlight with that 400nits, i would at least get the 11 inch lenovo with sd 8 gen 3 and 800 nits for a little more, if u cant affor honorpad
Thanks, Which Lenovo is that model with 800 Nit?

The screen is almost most important thing in a tablet as it is what you will be looking at 100% of the time when using it. And believe me, oled is so much better for a tablet

I've been hunting around AliExpress and cannot find a 256GB version with folding case and pen for anywhere near $180. Can you give us a link to where you bought yours for this price? Even if it's not $180 today, I'll be happy to keep an eye on it for the next sale. Thanks!
Just searched xiaoxin pad pro 12.7 and the price is $220 (240-20) for 8+256 without case.

Yeah, that's what I was kind of seeing so getting a combo with case + pen jacks it up even more--even past $280. The only difference then would be a 128GB vs 256GB difference, but at the expense of having to purchase it from China vs. locally. Oh, and you'd also have a China ROM, but it sounds like flashing a global one is simple enough.

I do not necessarily plan to make a purchase right now, so if @GreyLlama509 can let us know where they got their setup at this low price, that would be wonderful and I'll keep my on it for future sales.

I got me and my wife each the non-pro version of this with pen and keyboard case a while back for ~$212 each IIRC. It does everything we need to for a fraction of the price of an Ipad.

My main use for it is sheet music and web browsing. The screen is great for the former and speed more than adequate for the latter.

My next purchase for a sheet music reader will be the TCL Nxptaper 14 which has a larger screen and a 3:2 aspect ratio (wider in portrait mode than the Lenovo or Ipad) and has e-ink mode. I'm just waiting for the price to drop.

It looks like 2 OS updates and 4 years of security updates. Kind of typical for a tablet like this, especially for non-Samsung/non-Google ones.

I'd recommend getting the version with 12GB of RAM. Android runs smoothly when you have about much, but it depends on how heavy-handed the skin is. Considering it's Lenovo, the more the better.

I got this a few months ago from Amazon.
Screen is dim for outdoor use, but perfectly fine for indoor. Screen quality is pretty good for an LCD, and is better than AMOLED from 3-4 years ago.
Stylus seems good in terms of tracking.
Battery life is pretty good for media consumption/usage. Sleep battery life is fairly bad compared to Samsung.
Software is usable, but rough along the edges compared to Samsung.
Chipset is a flagship 2024 chipset, so it's plenty fast for everything. For $200-something bucks, you won't do any better.
