I enjoyed XBC1. I played a lot of XBC2 but don't enjoy the combat system and the gacha style summoning stuff. I have XBC3 but have not started it. How does XBCX compare and what it would be most comparable to?

The summoning is whatever, it didn't really impact my experience, but I know for some when you want a specific blade it can be frustrating. XC3 is also amazing, but just a touch too polished for me. I liked how overwhelming and complicated XC2 was in comparison. I think the Torna DLC was a real nice bridge between both. In XCX the core battle system and exploration aren't any different than the other XC games, but I would say it is similar to XC2 in its depth overall. There are also mechs, which functionally transform the game to really be a lot unlike the others. Unlocking the mech's full potential is also a progression, so don't expect to get into one immediately and even once you do, you'll be doing more to really flesh it out, but the game completely transforms once you do.

I guess it was a fluke, my Walmart had for $30 on Friday and I got the only copy they had. Glade I did, but still $40 is a good deal as well on the game.
