This is a very cheap metal storage shed for basic yard gear, and the low price stands out against much higher Amazon pricing. The galvanized steel version can last for years when it is anchored well, with reports of 3, 14, 15, and even 20 years of use, though rust eventually shows up and the doors can get stiff. Assembly is repeatedly described as tedious and rough on hands, and the thin shell, weak weather resistance, and small 47 inch door opening limit security and larger equipment storage. It works best for simple storage on a solid, well anchored base.

Common Questions (4)

  • Assembly is tedious and can be physically rough, with sharp sheet metal and small hardware making it easy to cut your hands. Some people describe it as an all-day project, while others say it can be manageable with help and patience.

  • It can last many years, with reports of 14 to 20 years of use before major wear. Rust and stiff doors are the main long-term issues, and sealing the roof screws is suggested to help slow deterioration.

  • Yes. It needs a solid platform, concrete base, or existing hard surface, and it should be anchored with screws or concrete anchors so wind does not move it. One report says a poorly anchored shed was blown into a neighbor's pool.

  • Probably not unless you have a very narrow model, because the door opening is only 47 inches. It is better suited for a push mower, garden tools, or similar equipment.

I second this I bought one of these at Lowes brought it home and cut my hand 3 times on the sheet metal taking assembling the first wall! I know wear gloves but I couldn't grab the little nuts and bolts to assemble it with gloves on and I have very smooth Cal of Duty hands that were not made for such work Stick Out Tongue

I bought one of these when I was younger. Spent all day putting it together but I didn't get it anchored down well enough. That night we had a storm and the next morning it was in my neighbors pool.
How did your neighbor feel about his new pool clubhouse?

No menards for me. Probably good actually so I'm not tempted to buy this death trap.

Bought one 14 years ago for $300. A little rusty but Still standing. Just make sure to spray or pump some water proofing adhesive to the screws on the roof. Guess I'll be replacing it. Thanks

I've been using one of these for about twenty years. I did not hate my life putting it together. It was actually a fun project with my daughter. Anyway, my garden tractor still looks new thanks to my shed. Almost time to replace the shed though. After twenty years, the doors are hard to operate. To contrast, i've had a couple of the resin ones that easily snapped together... and apart. None of them lasted more than a few seasons. My experience....YMMV.

This is a great price if you can pick it up. Keep in mind that you'll need to assemble your own platform, pour your own concrete base, or place it on existing hard surface. You'll also need to anchor it down with screws or concrete anchors so it doesn't blow away. Once you build it you can't hang things off the walls or ceiling. Bring in shelving or end up building wooden walls inside...ironic I know.

I need this but is it worth it to worry about my neighbor having to look at this too?

I have a similar one and it's at least 15 years old. It has held up way better than I thought and the sides are only now starting to show rust. I'm tempted to replace it with this one but damn, I stopped drinking and this assembly requires plenty of adult beverages.

They were pretty reasonable about it. But it didn't do any damage, otherwise they probably wouldn't have been as ok with it. Even helped me carry it back to our yard.

I just realized these are swing doors not the slide so maybe better??? Assuming you have sliding doors.

Due to design flaws or due to working with steel sheets?
