This is a very cheap metal storage shed for basic yard gear, and the low price stands out against much higher Amazon pricing. The galvanized steel version can last for years when it is anchored well, with reports of 3, 14, 15, and even 20 years of use, though rust eventually shows up and the doors can get stiff. Assembly is repeatedly described as tedious and rough on hands, and the thin shell, weak weather resistance, and small 47 inch door opening limit security and larger equipment storage. It works best for simple storage on a solid, well anchored base.

Common Questions (4)

  • Assembly is tedious and can be physically rough, with sharp sheet metal and small hardware making it easy to cut your hands. Some people describe it as an all-day project, while others say it can be manageable with help and patience.

  • It can last many years, with reports of 14 to 20 years of use before major wear. Rust and stiff doors are the main long-term issues, and sealing the roof screws is suggested to help slow deterioration.

  • Yes. It needs a solid platform, concrete base, or existing hard surface, and it should be anchored with screws or concrete anchors so wind does not move it. One report says a poorly anchored shed was blown into a neighbor's pool.

  • Probably not unless you have a very narrow model, because the door opening is only 47 inches. It is better suited for a push mower, garden tools, or similar equipment.

You will hate your life assembling this
Dissableming was even worse with rusted screws and stripped heads. I ended up with an angle grinder to the all the screws. Don't try to pry the screws, they will eject like a bullet. Never again will I put up a steel shed.

spec:
Maximum any kind of Snow Load: 0 LB/^2'
Maximum Wind Resistance: 0 MPH
This is worrisome..., neighbor's pool story might be true.

The ability to put a lock on this is futile when the shell is the same thickness as a soda can

I just set one up the past 2 weeks, I heavily advise against ever buying a metal shed!

Besides assembly being tedious and lengthy, the door will be difficult to operate. Worse yet is that the galvanizing is microscopically thin resulting in rust in just a few years. Lastly, you had better have anchored it well, or it will flatten or fly apart. I speak from experience.☹️

I think this will be perfect for me. My HOA says no sheds but I had one in the past. Others in my development have them so al as long as I'm not reported I should be good. Hopefully it will stay in my yard and not blow away. If I'm reported it only cost me $90.

I live on a farm and I would even risk the 100 for this for my zero turn. Even tho when its 30mph winds its 60mph on the farm put it behind the house. But no Maynards near me sadly

Thank you for choosing Menards. As a result of the burdensome changes in California law, including California Senate Bill 253 and California Prop 65 regulations, it is no longer financially practical for us to fulfill orders to California addresses at this time. We value your business and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

How you would plan on putting a zero turn in one of these to begin with, unless you have one of those weird looking narrow Dixon mowers, which would be an odd choice for a "farm". The door opening is only 47".
It's totally worth it to store my push mower and garden tools in though, if it needs replaced after a year or two, it's only $90..
