These are definitely not 30 hour play time, unless my pair is defective. Today they lasted about 6 hours which is not very good

They're defective.

Or you're completely misunderstanding the fact that the case is a charger, and 30 hours is the amount of time you get from a fresh charge until both the earbuds AND the case are dead.

They last longer if you are in normal mode. Using the ANC will play for a shorter period. I have various Anker buds as well as Google and I would say that 6 hours is very good.

You're probably correct it's probably just deceptive description when it says 30 hours playtime I guess I should be looking for continuous instead of having to put it in the case every 5 to 6 hours... Just giving others a heads up

Good earbuds will usually start around $100. A lot of these $20 pairs are fine for casual use though, especially if you just want to listen to a podcast while doing things.
