Never buying earlier on with the VPN deal lol. Should have got this deal for $20
Every year it's a crap shoot. Sometimes the cheaper price is early on, other times one has to wait sometimes into March before the price is cheaper. For some the $10 gift card to the businesses listed are a "meh" deal because they don't typically shop often or frequently at the listed businesses.
In my case the Deluxe+State+NordVPN combo deal was the best because I'd get more use, over the next year, out of NordVPN then I would out of some $10 gift card to some store. That Deluxe+State+NordVPN combo deal $24.99 pricing boke down as follows.
NordVPN $7.99
H&R Block Deluxe+State $17.00

I bought at $25 after missing the deals last year and having to scramble and pay more than that. $23 was a bit better but I would have gone for this deal with Domino's gift card, assigning it to 30% off on the gift card ($7) and $23 to the software.
If you have complicated tax situation (multiple states, spouse works in different state, etc) HR block in some situation has better options. I switched to HR block from turbotax few years back because of this.

Importing tax docs from online brokerages did not work. The software itself is very clumsy and feels outdated, Turbotax is much more user friendly.
Even though I managed to file with H&R, I am going back to Turbotax next year.
Strictly my personal opinion, others might have different experience.
