No controls or display on the device, so phone app is required to connect via Bluetooth.
Pros: Cheap introduction to sous vide. (1/2 the cost of the next cheapest cooker.)
Cons: No display/controls. App control only.
Wow really? That sounds like a really good use case. I've been trying the reverse searing method of oven at 250 until inside of steak is about 165 and then searing. Mixed results.
Basically sous vide your steak to your desired temp for 1-2 hours. I do 133-138 depending on the cut. Ice bath if desired then sear. It's safe. To kill bacteria is a function of time and heat. The 145 steak USDA guidelines is based on 3 mins at that temperature.

Is this a glorified water boiler? Why would I want this over just turning on the stove?
