I have been using a similar scraper on my Traeger for years. The wood works well on the hot metal. And it doesn't damage the non-stick finish, if your smoker has one.

I worry about the scraper profile not matching the grate profile and it being hard to scrape some portions of the grate. Anyone tried the GrillBadger (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0711HM...EC&psc=1)?

But Traeger has a pretty heavy duty nylon grill brush intended for the same thing. Why have two products that do the same thing? BAC537 is the model

That's exactly why they work so well. Not this one for example since the grooves are already built in,

I have used many of them over the years like that. The hot grates forms grooves that exactly match the pattern of the grates you have.
