That's not correct. These have a compressor. I've used a larger Iceco brand one for the past 3 years for camping. It gets cold enough to use as a freezer if you want. They also sell dual zone where you can have refrigerator on one side and freezer on the other.

Literally what are you talking about? Evaporative cooling has nothing to do with this ice chest, nor does it have anything to do with any ice chest in existence.
You're describing a swamp cooler, which is a completely different thing and would never be used in in the context of food storage.
