Most air purifiers worth buying are going to cost you on replacement filters, unless you go with a Luggable or DIY furnace filter setup. However, then you're replacing filters monthly instead of yearly.
This is an incredible deal. $109 for a midsize 410sqft AHAM Verifide air purifier is a steal. The only better deal you might get is if Costco drops the C909 to $160 again.
I grabbed two of these earlier this week and while its still early, I've been very happy with them so far.
Just be aware, there are a lot of useless cheap air purifiers out there, especially on Amazon. Stick to reputable brands (while avoiding Shark) and get something with an actual AHAM Verifide rating. Those $40-60 Chinese "random letter" brand air purifiers are worthless no matter how big the sqft number is in the title.
If you want a comparable midsize unit, check out the Levoit Vital 200S-P, its on sale most places for $160 right now and it has 380sqft AHAM Verifide rating. The genuine filters are still going to cost you $40-65, but generics are around $15-25.

Great info, thanks. I just got into using them in my house. Bought the C610 and the two Blue Mini's at Costco. Wanted a bigger one for the living room/kitchen area, so I got this one. I'll move the C610 near the office.
Now that you mentioned the C909, I am gonna set a deal alert for the C909. It's black and can be placed near a wall, would be great for my bedroom.
