Are these shirts soft and comfortable or do they fee cheap and plastic like? I have had polyesther shirts go both ways.

just for keeping UV rays off you, easier than lathering on sunscreen. Darker colors can be a little warmer in the sun

Extremely good for the price. Used these for quite a few miles of hiking including rim to rim in the Grand Canyon in 100 degree weather.
I have since purchased some REI brand ones as I used these to test the sun hoody approach and decided I needed tall sizing. While they are definitely better, they are far from the same value.
