I think the "Pro" label applies to the charger and not the batteries because I have the batteries which claim 2000 mah but do not even last half as long as my enloop ones. Still not a bad deal if you need a fast charger and some spare batteries.

The batteries are manufactured in China.
I bought the 'value charger' version of this from Amazon a few months ago and returned them.
I'd gotten this set a year or so ago at Costco and the batteries were manufactured in Japan and they were good.

Honestly I would say skip the NiMH and get lithium rechargable ones instead. There are AA/A rechargeable lithiums that are much better for higher voltage products. (Lithium AA as an example stay at 1.5 v from full to depleted while most NiMH start at 1.2 v and continue to drop as they are used and as they naturally deplete.) I bought some mupoer AAs and they have worked really well for me. AAAs are harder to find but do exist. I also just picked up some rechargeable 9vs that so far have worked well.

Kinda surprised this is FP and to each their own (I've had not so great experiences with energizer rechargeables lately), but do note this will *only* charge batteries by 2s which can lead to batteries not being fully charged if they've not discharged the same amount. An option that is a bit more with 8 batteries (and the capability to charge any number from 1-8 batteries) would be https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0GDG3L38B/ for $18 which includes 4 2800 AAs and 4 1100 AAAs. My charger had one failed port (because I always used the same ports) after 2 years (nearly daily) use. It's availble without batteries for $13 as well (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EB7812C/ ) but for the price, opt for the 8 batteries if you have any need of AA or AAAs.

Just from personal experience. I bought 2 sets of these from Costco and both of the chargers failed. I thought it was the batteries but buying a 3rd party charger on Amazon, the batteries were still good.

It's definitely not as convenient as getting something shipped from Amazon, but in case you're considering buying a charger and happen to need to visit an IKEA store soon, I would highly recommend the IKEA charger. It's highly regarded and costs just $9.

Of course, if you buy 4-pack batteries as well from IKEA, it becomes more expensive than this deal. But on the flip side, IKEA batteries are known to be rebadged Eneloops and so are quite good.

AA rechargeable lithium is not mainstream. There must be some reason.

I recommend the Eneloop batteries over these. Eneloop lasts much longer and holds their charge better. IKEA makes a similar Eneloop style product.
