Anyone know for sure if this uses the unifying receiver or a propritary receiver? Title says Unifying but there's no mention of it in details

Logitech says it's the Nano receiver on their website. I have a few of the $10 combos in stock, and they're the same. Logitech doesn't want us using the unifying receivers with cheaper kit.

It's not, I used to buy these lower cost Logitech wireless combos for work but the muppets kept losing their receivers and I have a bin of ewaste wireless peripherals. The MK540 is my standard option now of the MK545 for a better mouse if you can still find it.

oh, that's a good explaination on why they aren't using their unifying for these cheaper ones.

Exactly, and Logitech doesn't even mention the unifying receiver on the MK540 page, other than one image showing it. They'd like consumers to think you have to buy a $100 board or mouse to get one.

I ended up going down a logitech sized rabbit hole, does this help with your mismatched logitech stuff? https://support.logi.com/hc/en-in...leshooting

Thanks but I have been down that road and contacted support. Essentially if you have a Unifying receiver (older model) or a Bolt (newer model) you can buy a replacement receiver and program it with a free desktop app to any Unifying/Bolt device. The basic receivers are paired to a specific keyboard and/or mouse and if lost you can't program a replacement.
