My mom thinks that too, but she can't tell her acidic foods she cooks in the pan taste super metallic from there being no seasoning layer to block the iron from leaching into the food.

Multi-clad stainless steel uses metal cores to transfer heat more readily and evenly. They take less time and energy to get up to the temperature for searing, and they're perfect for people who want to wash their cookware in a dishwasher.

I'm personally a fan of following best practices, I've usually found my seasoned cast iron performs better than when I used to wash the seasoning off, but we all get to run our own kitchens.

This seems like a standard price for these types of things on Amazon. I've been waiting for one to reach the threshold of $25.

I love cast iron but I don't follow the advice on maintenance. I wash em, about twice a year I put em in the dishwasher. They are great and I have no issues. The only rule I follow is I don't let em rust, but when I did, I just cleaned it off and started over. They heat evenly, they cook beautifully and ya can't kill em. They sear foods, bake, fry, boil, just anything I want to do, they will work for me.

Never heard of this brand, the oven itself appears to be a knock-off of Lodge's famous Double Dutch Oven:

The Lodge one goes on sale somewhat frequently, so I'd probably just wait for a deal on that one.

agreed - who knows if this has lead in it? not saying we know lodge doesn't, but probably less likely.

Yes, absolutely. I usually use mine with a paper towel between the cast iron and the stove just to make sure it doesnt scratch.

I could not ship this to you for this price if the material cost was zero.

Based on the maker, does your food get close to final cooking temp but never finish? šŸ˜
