$42 is fair. The shell is very thin. A stick/limb from a bush or tree will rip it as well as a grocery store shopping cart if it goes near a sharp edge.

Most puffers in this price range aren't really going to breath and have wind resistance. This is a more of a standing around jacket.

columbia has so much scammy naming scheme that i'm not sure but i think i have this jacket. who cares if the shell is thin? it's powder lite for a reason. you can compress it down to the size of a big wallet. it's also decently warm for light cold weather. it has its purpose. also i got this shit for 80 on sale, now i see it for 40. annoying.
edit: as for the scamminess of columbia. i just checked my order history and went to the page. yea it's powder lite 2 but guess what? it's like a completely different page. has many options not just one jacket and it's 112 right now. some colors on sale for 82. the color way in op is literally in this too but out of stock. just for these scammy confusing tactics alone i would never buy another columbia item again. their outlets also have very very similar looking jackets with similar naming schemes for cheaper than the website but apparently there are tiny tweaks somehow that makes them less good? god knows, but i don't want to ever do a crazy analysis again just to buy a jacket. greedy scammy marketing department. it's a shape because they do make nice jackets.

why would you want it to breathe? there's no such thing as both insulating and breathing. that's how heat leaks out. i have this jacket and i never felt like it sucked in anyway. it's a fine jacket and for 40 it's a huge steal.
