I just received my galaxy watch 7 lte and did a IMEI check before unboxing:
Carrier: Open
So I assume it has no restriction and comes unlocked?
Do I actually have to open the box and activate the watch, I'd rather keep it in original package and use as a gift…what happens if I don't activate?

I just got my watch and was having trouble starting the cellular plan on it after pairing it to the Metro PCS phone. It said something like "Metro PCS does not offer cellular plans on watches." I said forget it and am about to just pair it via bluetooth to my tmobile phone. I wont ever get a data plan on this watch, so I don't need it to be unlocked after a year.

Why is it when I go to https://www.metrobyt-mobile.com/order-status to activate the watch line that shows shipped, but the button is grayed out. On my previous 2 lines (tablets) it worked fine and Activate button was able to be clicked once it was shipped. With this issue I am unable to order any more lines now. Anyone had this issue and got it fixed somehow?

I ported GV and got my IP13 . Just activated it. Now when I try to add a new line for watch or another phone , its giving:

I received mine and haven't been able to activate it with Metro yet. Out of frustration I tried activating it with Tello (no go) and on US Mobile via Verizon, and couldn't get either of them to work. Not sure if the watches truly are locked, or if they just have the IMEI flagged because their system thinks it's still in transit, but I don't think you can do anything with the LTE connection if you don't activate it.

I activated but have not unboxed. I checked imei again after activation and it still shows: Carrier Open. We will see...

Mine was delivered 5 days ago but the order status still says "Your shipment is delayed", and it's greyed out at well. The Metro reps can't activate it either (since they apparently just use the same website we do), they said that it's a "security measure" to prevent it from being stolen in transit and activated.

They keep telling me that once the system is updated to show it was delivered, I'll be able to activate, but we'll have to see (currently have an escalation ticket open with support, but I'm not holding my breath)

My Activate button showed up overnight after initially was grayed out when it showed shipped. Usually once it shows shipped the blue button is active, but this time it was delayed somewhat, but did show up in the morning after it was not there the night before. This had happened to me before in another round of these deals where it never became active and I could no longer use the same account to order more phones or tablets since you need to activate the current line in transit in order to be able to order more lines/phones/tablets. I don't think CS will be able to fix that issue though, I tried many reps last time and gave up and just started a new account with new email.

The IMEI for my watch also shows as clean everywhere, but I'm still not able to activate it with any carriers. I'll be interested to see if yours is able to be activated, maybe the activation with Metro is the piece I'm missing.

When you did the new account with the new email, did you use the same address etc? Or did you put it in a different name?

Apparently there was an issue with our AmEx after our order went through, Metro tried to charge me 5 times and then credited me back. When we called in to fix it, the rep said "oh there was a glitch, I will credit your account" and just gave us a credit back for the $42. Now the reps are saying they can't activate our line because we never paid for the initial order - they want me to return the watch, but said they can't send me a return label since we should have kept the one in the original box. Confused

Tempted to just throw in the towel, use the watch via BT, and just start over with a new account.

What have you ordered already?

Phone needs to be activated before ordering the watch.

If you order a tablet, that needs to be activated before the watch (or so a rep told me).

And if you get an error w/ watch after payment, you need to call them and have them do it manually. That may possibly be somewhat painful, but they can do it.

Yes. I received the phone, activate it, using right now. Adding a watch, go smoothly except the last page of order "Please contact ..." I redo it with 2 different CC: still not successful.

I got the watch, activated it online, and then tried to pair it with my iPhone 13. Apparently this watch can't be paired with an iPhone? I would like to use the phone number of the watch for this first month. How can I install the esim? I tried to move the phone plan from the IP13 to an Android phone, but it said I need to change my plan to do so. I just want to set the watch up to receive text verifications at its own number. Can anyone help?

It's a Google WearOS watch so can't be setup with the iPhone/iOS. I learned about it too yesterday.

But there is a workaround. From this link https://xdaforums.com/t/galaxy-wa...e.4532989/ start at step 6 and ignore everything above. I did this myself on a tmobile plan phone. Step 10 will have the link to the QR code.

A Youtube video https://youtu.be/AIGk03I1wvg to help visualize the guide to get into to the test menus on the app.

Once it all goes through it will want to install Metro related apps, but I didn't see anything added.

I was able to send a text from the watch to my tmobile phone and confirm mobile data, but can't seem to receive a text reply back. Better than nothing.
