AMD has already paid for the time at TSMC, and these are going to pile up due to DIMM pricing. As good as this price is, they are going to go lower.

$180 for a four year old 6 core cpu is not a good price at all. You can get a new 14 core Ultra 5 245KF that runs circles around this cpu for the same price... I mean the entire AM5 Ryzen lineup is just way overpriced.

This is not a slick deal. The chip that replaced this one, r5 9600x, can easily be found for the same or similar price.

Micro center has a pretty good price on this processor.

I actually appreciate all the feedback on this post because I was seriously looking at this budget processor.

You're going to get downvoted for most of what you replied, but I agree that the 245KF would be a better choice for productivity, if not upgrading at any point. The rest of the Core Ultra line is also overpriced though along with AM5. This 7600X should be sitting around $125 now.

yes I agree, around 125 is fair and 7700x should be under 200. I am not even a big fan of the Core Ultra line but other than the Ultra 9(waaay overpriced), they are much more reasonably priced in general. I am just amazed how people are so eager to pay so much for non-x3d AMD cpus with such few cores.
