Those in the know.... What do they say about lg fridgs these days... Yes or no with costco extra warranty?

I mean, LG came out with the linear compressor which was utter trash. I would avoid LG and Samsung like the plague personally, and I would not buy any companies entry level lines of fridges these days.

That said - distilled to brands only to rec based on reliability:

1. Whirlpool
2. Maytag
3. GE
4. Bosch
5. Kitchenaid

Whirlpool is the parent company to Maytag and Kitchenaid. Maytag uses more premium parts in build than Whirl, and Kitchenaid is the "Lexus" where "Whirlpool" would be toyota.

A nice Bosch 800 series is an excellent buy imho. Best reliability as they have the fewest service calls, but a tad more expensive than the other 4 for the parts if it does break.

GE just yells "keeps it simple stupid"! And they do well in that vein.
