I have one in my AMS and it reads 15% humidity, the AMS reads 20%. I trust what my AMS says is the humidity inside the unit.

I have a 4 pack of cheap ones similar to this (but not the same exact model). Out of the 4 there appears to be a 10% swing between the highest and lowest measurement and roughly 5% +/- over that of the outdoor RH my local news reports. As long as you were okay with a spitting distance measurement these should okay. Might want to 'calibrate' them using the outdoor relative humidity so you can get a guess of where your particular units read in relation.

These get "stuck" after a while and stays at 10% / 20%. You can take them out, leave them to "rehydrate" overnight then they'll start working again.

My experience with these things is not good. *Maybe* 1 in 4 is somewhat accurate. In addition, the AMS Pro doesn't have a very accurate hygrometer (and they'll admit it if you ask). I ended up spending a few extra bucks and got an Inkbird hygrometer. Zero regrets.
