Yep. They've been doing that for a while. We have an aluminum set. Chairs are very light. They still look new after 10+ years. Prices have gone down a lot. We bought our set (table and 6 chairs) for $2k 10+ years ago.

Aluminum, unlike iron, doesn't rust. However, it can corrode over a very long time when exposed to the elements. When exposed to water, aluminum forms a protective layer of aluminum oxide, which slows corrosion.

Aluminum doesn't rust. Iron rusts and things made with iron rust. Aluminum is not iron nor made with iron.

This now makes it 2 who said "no", but it's more important to go with science and knowledge than a popular vote.

I'd assume your chairs didn't require assembly. Cast aluminum is pretty much indestructable, but I hope this comes with stainless steel screws. Really good price regardless.

I have a table from 2012, and love it. Super light, and has some distinct patina from sun exposure. But no rust and light is a win in my book.
