I have one of these. The scroll wheels go bad after a while. Maybe after 2 years of light use as it is not my main mouse.

How do people realistically find their way around a 12-key keypad with their thumb by touch alone?

It is weird at first but you do get used to it. It is super helpful for games like Guild Wars 2 where you need to select, aim, and use a skill while still using WASD to navigate.

IDK about this one so I cannot vouch for durability, but I can tell you the buttons are very useful. I have the Logitech version of this with 12 side buttons. I have programmed only 6 of the buttons with things like "refresh", "next window (alt-tab)", and a few more frequently used commands.I hardly ever have to lift my hand off of my mouse. My logitech has lasted 4+ years of daily use and online gaming without a misfire.

These don't have mouse wheel side click/navigation if that matters to anyone. They are pretty solid though.

No side clicks for the middle mouse button, no extra 2 buttons on the left click. Inferior design to the g604, but I didn't have much options to replace a discontinued product. I use it for now, but it's definitely less ergonomic for almost the same amount of buttons.

It also has the ring finger rest, which sucks but almost every mmo style mouse will have it. Makes it feel bulkier than it needs to be.

G604 design was nice but the build was shit. There's no mouse that has it all yet, which is likely when it was discontinued. And it wasn't repairable.
