The teeth of the blade protrude from the sides and scrape the surface when laid flat. The handle became sloppy loose after only a couple of pulls. I had to file the sides of the saw smooth and hammer the handle rivets tight. After modifying the saw it works pretty good, and is a Slickdeal for only $4

This absolutely is a real flush cut saw; it has all the properties of a flush cut saw except it is just poorly made. Once the sides of the teeth are filed down it works just fine and does not scratch your work.

1st of all it is NOT a flush cut saw.

2nd it is NOT a "Japanese hand saw," it's a chinese hand saw (china doesn't deserve upper case).
