The teeth of the blade protrude from the sides and scrape the surface when laid flat. The handle became sloppy loose after only a couple of pulls. I had to file the sides of the saw smooth and hammer the handle rivets tight. After modifying the saw it works pretty good, and is a Slickdeal for only $4

This tiny 6 inch Japanese style pull saw is praised as a handy little backup tool for light woodworking and a work bag. The blade cuts well enough for the price, and filing the sides of the teeth can stop it from scratching work when used flush. The main knocks are uneven build quality, with reports of loose handles and protruding teeth, and the deal price looks less compelling because similar listings have sold for less. A compact extra saw if you can live with some finishing work.
The saw can work well after filing the tooth sides smooth and tightening loose handle rivets.
The saw can serve as an acceptable low-cost backup or extra for a work bag.
The saw may be a real flush-cut style in terms of cutting properties once the tooth sides are filed down.
The saw has been described as still an amazing tool after being used since college.
The deal may be less compelling because similar or exact-same saw listings have appeared at about $3.99 to $5.
The saw can scratch work because the blade set extends on both sides even when labeled flush cut.
The saw can be complete crap out of the box, with blade teeth protruding and scraping when laid flat.
The saw can develop a sloppy, loose handle after only a couple of pulls.
