Anchor Hocking glass measuring cups are a cheap, sturdy kitchen staple, with the 2 cup and 8 ounce sizes getting the most praise for everyday measuring and easy storage. The Triple Pour 8 ounce cup and red markings are especially handy for small liquid measurements, and the pieces nest for compact storage. The main drawbacks are the wide pour spout on the 4 cup size and markings that can fade or wash off over time, especially in the dishwasher or with Lemishine. Hand washing helps preserve the graduations, making this a practical set if you want simple glass measuring cups.

  • Store pickup availability can make it easier to get the discounted set when shipping is not offered.

  • The 8 oz Triple Pour design helps measure 1 cup of non-boiling liquid with clearer red line graduations.

  • The measuring cups reportedly work well without cracks or other problems.

  • The 3 sizes can nest together for storage, even though they wobble slightly.

  • Dishwasher use can cause the markings to wash off after some years.

  • Using Lemishine can remove the measuring cup markings in a single wash.

  • The pour spout can be too wide and may lead to unnecessary messes.

  • The 4-cup version can have a poorly designed spout that is not recommended.

I was just using the 8 oz last night, and it occurred to me that I really do like the Triple Pour for simply measuring 1 cup of non-boiling liquid. (I did appreciate the red lines for more detailed measurements.) Looks like it's discontinued now - hope I don't drop it.
You can still get it by Anchor Hocking; and the gradients are permanently molded into the glass $3.55 with sealing lid (made in USA)

No option for shipping but my store had pickup available. Been meaning to get a 4cup for awhile, and just grabbed the whole set of 3 for $12.

Good price. But I find the pour spout on these too wide and makes for unnecessary messes.

Hopefully the writing doesn't wear off -- I have one from a few years ago and it is starting to fade.

DO NOT BUY the 4 cup version it's spout is poorly designed. I would not recommend that product.

You'd think someone would take a minute to test the design before they released to manufacturing but companies stopped caring about quality long ago.

Wish they would etch in the markings as they wash off after some years in the dishwasher.
I use Lemishine for hard water spotting and it took off the markings in one wash. So if you happen to use Lemishine also I would definitely recommend hand washing.

The reviews seem very positive! Ordered the single and double for pick up.

I have a similar issue with the Pyrex 4c version. Love their 2c, though. Have 2 and use them almost daily.
Found a 1c Fire-King/Anchor Hocking when cleaning out my dad's tool shed a couple years ago. Who knows what he was mixing in it. Cleaned it up and use it in my kitchen every day now.

BTW, just hand wash this stuff. Markings will last forever. The Pyrex are PYREX from the borosilicate era.
