I use this for fruit and works really well. However, I still put a paper towel down in the base before returning the colander.

Seems way to small to be useful. If its for berries why not just rinse in the bag they came in and store in the 100s of Tupperware in your drawer.

You don't want them touching moisture or they go bad sooner. I'm not saying this is the best solution but if there's some kind of barrier between them and the walls of the Tupperware they will last longer.

I soak my fruit (ie blueberries, strawberries, grapes) in water with salt for like 5-10 minutes before rinsing them off and eating. I would not suggest washing fruits and putting them back in refrigerator for storage.

4 cup for you: https://slickdeals.net/f/19245151-ultimate-4-cup-food-storage-container-with-ultralight-titanium-fork-and-spoon-everlasting-flash-heat-flash-cool-25-99-free-sh-prime-25-99?v=1

Costs more but keeps food fresh ice cold with a gel pack, will never wear out, absorb odors and is the most sanitary.

I wish it was larger as well. I use it mainly for blueberries, most of the other fruits it won't hold a full pint or whatever.
