Samsung's 32 inch M50F is best understood as a thin smart display that works better as a bedroom, kitchen, garage, or RV screen than as a desk monitor. The 1080p panel is fine at typical TV viewing distances, and the slim body makes it easier to place than a bulkier television. It also has Samsung TV Plus for free live channels. The main drawbacks are poor pixel density for close monitor use, likely weak built in speakers, and no over the air tuner. A compact pick if you want a small screen more than a true work monitor.

  • The slim monitor form factor can fit tighter spaces like a kitchen or garage more easily than thicker TVs.

  • The 32-inch size can work well as a bedroom TV when viewing from a few feet away.

  • The display can serve as a monitor or second screen for a garage workbench setup.

  • The device can access Samsung's free live TV channels through Samsung TV Plus.

  • The monitor may lack an over-the-air tuner, so it may not replace traditional TV channels.

  • The 1080p resolution can be unsuitable for typical work monitor use and may cause eye strain.

  • The 32-inch 1080p setup can feel like a small TV rather than a true monitor at this price point.

  • The built-in speakers may be poor due to the slim monitor design, making a sound bar likely.

Anyone know if Tizen OS includes a web browser? I'm thinking about using this to stream my google home cameras.

Would this make a decent spare bedroom tv? Most 32" cheap tvs are only 720p
That was true a decade ago. Even cheap TVs are 4K.

Not true. Most 32" tvs are either 720p or 1080 still. It's not a popular size so they cheap out on them. There's a few 4k ones, but those are overpriced at around $400. Anything affordable is still 1080p or less.

Of course it will be a good 32" TV, question is, is that big enough anymore unless you are literally sitting right in front of it or maybe in an RV?
Or wearing the glasses!

Thought about one for RV but no tuner from what I can see.
It wouldn't be a TV if it didn't have a tuner. It says it is a Smart TV. Maybe not. Just asked Grok, say no over the air tv channels, i.e. no tuner, like you said. To me seems like false advertising, other places it says Smart Monitor.

Yeah, I have that on a large screen of theirs, but still have over the air channels. To my mind, that's what makes it a television, not channels streamed over the internet. You can get a device to receive digital tv over the air, with extra features, but to me not worth the hassle.
