What's actually more frustrating is that neither 140 nor 180 divide evenly by both 24 and 30, meaning that 24 or 30FPS content will look suboptimal on one or the other.
The solution to this is to use 120Hz or 240Hz monitors, where 24 and 30 FPS content will be displayed properly.
For gaming, all of the above is a non-issue.

This 27 inch Samsung Odyssey G50SF looks like a budget QD OLED option that stands out for color and response time, with the same Samsung panel used in other OLED monitors in this price range. The 180Hz 1440p panel is seen as fine for gaming, and a firmware update is said to enable DisplayPort 1.4 for 180Hz at 10 bit color. The main knocks are the basic stand, low brightness, and reports that HDR support is limited or missing. The Resident Evil Requiem code also appears unreliable through Amazon, so the bundle may take extra follow up.
Common Questions (4)
The code is not always included in the box or order, and some purchases have arrived without it. A workaround is to redeem through Samsung with proof of purchase and receipt, which can be used to obtain the code.
The stand is not height adjustable, and brightness is reported as low. HDR support is also called out as weak on the listed setup, so it is better suited to a fixed mount or adjustable desk arm than to relying on the stock stand.
It uses the same Samsung QD-OLED panel found in some other monitors in this range, so it should deliver OLED-level color and response time. The tradeoffs are the older panel generation and a more basic stand, while nearby alternatives like an AOC 27-inch 1440p 240Hz OLED can cost about $30 more and include HDR.
It reportedly cannot do 180Hz at 10-bit color out of the box, but a firmware update can enable DisplayPort 1.4 support, which allows 180Hz at 10-bit. That matters if you want full color depth at the monitor's top refresh rate.

1) Not height adjustable.
2) Doesn't properly support HDR (DP 1.2 instead of DP 1.4)
3) Doesn't support 180Hz at 10 bit color (see above)
This is bargain basement OLED. And low-end Samsung is never good in my experience.
