AMC A-List is a strong fit for frequent moviegoers who want premium formats like IMAX, Dolby, and 3D without paying per ticket. The membership also covers special features and concerts, and the value improves quickly when several films a month are in play. The main catches are the three month commitment, the fact that gift cards do not apply, and that Fathom events are excluded. Theater availability, commute time, and rising pricing can also limit the appeal, especially if the local AMC lineup is thin.

Common Questions (5)

  • The plan allows up to 4 movies per week. That can be enough for heavy moviegoers, but it may be hard to use fully if your local AMC has limited showtimes or you do not live near a theater.

  • Thursday is the best signup day if you want to squeeze out the most tickets before the weekly reset. The reset happens Friday, so starting Thursday can give you extra booking time before the next cycle.

  • Yes. A-List covers premium formats like IMAX, Dolby, and 3D, and it also includes some special features and concerts. Fathom events are not included.

  • The remaining commitment is about $27.99 per month for three months, so the full three-month cost is roughly $83.97. The $0.99 first month is only the promo entry price, not the total cost.

  • No. AMC gift cards cannot be redeemed toward A-List membership charges.

If you're going to pay just the first month, assuming you can watch several movies on Thursday, the best day to join is Thursday. Friday is the reset.

I curious to read what those three movies were to judge you. LOL!
Let's see, I looked up my history on AMC and I found out it's a bit more than 3 but considering this is since 2021, A list would not have been worth it. Also, I didn't see it in my history but I might have seen Dune 1 in the theaters, I can't remember.

Deadpool & Wolverine
John Wick 4
Spiderman No way home
A Quiet Place 2 & 3
Top Gun Maverick
Demon Slayer Infinity Castle

I gotta say, I think I can pick them because most of these movies were bangers. A Quiet Place 2 was not as good as the first one but I still enjoyed it and 3 wasn't as good as 2. It wasn't terrible, it was okay. Every other movie I really enjoyed.

Yes you can. All you have to do is use a virtual CC or a prepaid Visa/MC from Staples when Staples offer a no fee promo. Disable the virtual CC or empty the prepaid card before the next auto charge. That's why it's good to start the membership on Thursday because you have 6 days before auto charge and you can book your final 4 tickets starting on Friday before the account terminates the following Thursday.

Really? I can't imagine a month going by without at least one movie I want to see. I have a wide variety of things I like, though.
Movies come out to streaming so fast, unless I'm dying to see it and I can't wait a few weeks, I don't usually bother. Also, with how heavy the political messaging is now and how every movie is so predictable, I'm really turned off by them. I think the writers have locked themself into using certain tropes that they can't seem to break themselves out of. I can tell who the villain is within 5 minutes of starting a new movie. It's pretty sad.

It's called breach of contract. Read the TOC carefully before issuing fake jail sentences. You're not shoplifting $50 of goods and services, less 28.3 years of prison time. All they are allowed to do is send you a bill for the two remaining months, sue you for $50, or send this to collection agencies. It's a bit tricky either way because they cancel the membership before you can use the second month. This trick was mentioned many years ago. I didn't invent it.

You get extra 4 tickets if you start on Thursday whether you sign up for one month or three months because the reset starts every Friday. If you start the membership yesterday it ends Wednesday Mar 25. If you start the membership today, it ends Thursday Mar 26. Both gets final week that starts Friday Mar 20. But the former gets the extra tickets on Feb 26, and the second week of tickets overlaps the first week of tickets for the latter. This makes Friday the worst day to sign up, Thursday the best.

The price of AMC A-list is increasing and now they're implementing preferred seating in the theaters for A-list and Stub members. Every corporation is getting extremely greedy and we all know why so at this point I'll just wait until the movies stream. Nobody needs another subscription, it's getting out of hand now. I have Stubs and when it expires I'm done especially after they rolled back the extra year we got during the last deal.

I've had A-List for many years now and it's totally worth it. Four movies a week for $24 including IMAX, Dolby, 3D, etc. Before you start complaining about concession prices, just remember that you don't have to buy anything to see a movie.
Issue is, every movie I've gone to see at AMC no matter if it's weeks later, people are still talking during the whole movie. Making comments about the scenes and such. It's very annoying.
